What HexTiles are made of
Section titled “What HexTiles are made of”FluentPet HexTiles are made of EVA foam, with a non-slip synthetic rubber bottom layer.
The older Edge Pieces have no rubber layer. They are being phased out and replaced by Frame Pieces, which are made of ABS plastic. For tile sizes and compatibility, see HexTiles: Compare tile sizes and compatibility.
What buttons are made of
Section titled “What buttons are made of”All buttons, including Connect Buttons, have an ABS plastic housing that holds the electronics that make them work.
What the Connect Base is made of
Section titled “What the Connect Base is made of”The Connect Base is made of ABS plastic. Its connector pieces, the parts that join the Base and the HexTiles, are made of a soft, rubber-like plastic.
The Connect Base and the Connect Buttons contain magnets. The HexTile connectors do not.
How the products are safety tested
Section titled “How the products are safety tested”Our products, including the Connect Base and Connect Buttons, are third-party lab tested lead-free, BPA-free, and PVC/phthalates-free. To make sure our products meet the highest safety standards, we have used accredited external test laboratories to evaluate and approve our products for mechanical and chemical safety.
The Connect Base carries the FCC, IC, CE and RoHS marks.
We value the safety of our customers and their animals, so we hold our products to the highest test standards.

How FluentPet products are packaged
Section titled “How FluentPet products are packaged”FluentPet aims to ship products in recyclable cardboard boxes with minimal plastic packaging. Whether the packaging can be recycled depends on your local recycling rules. Some items still ship with plastic packaging.
