Speak Up! Buttons: Record a word

Speak Up! Buttons record your word on the button itself. To record a word for a Connect Button, see Connect Buttons: Link a Button and record its word.

Record a word on a Speak Up! Button

1. Remove the battery tab on the bottom of the button.
2. To record a word, flip the black switch on the bottom of the button to the dot icon (record).
3. Hold the button down until you hear a beep. Keep holding and say your word.
4. When you release the button, it beeps twice.
5. Flip the switch back to the triangle icon (play).

Record a word on a Basic Button

Basic Buttons (Gen 1) are no longer in production.

1. Flip the switch on the side of the button to the left (record mode).
2. Hold the button down for three seconds, and say your word after you hear the beep.
3. When you release the button, it beeps twice.
4. Slide the switch to the right to change to play mode. In play mode, your learner cannot accidentally erase the recording.
