In order to use the Hub in its fullest capability, you will need to use the CleverPet mobile app, which is available for phones or other smart devices running on iOS 8.0 or later, and Android 4.0 or later. When you receive your CleverPet Hub, you'll be directed to download the app at clvr.pt/app.
The app is required to initially connect your Hub to WiFi. Once your Hub is connected, you can use the app to monitor the Hub and track your dog's progress through the challenges! Though you don't need to use the app after setup, we highly recommend it for optimal use of the Hub.
It’s important to us that we make it easy for the Hub to connect to as many smart devices as possible, and it’s a goal shared by Particle, the company that makes the WiFi module we use in the Hub.
However, there are known compatibility issues between the Hub and a few newer Android phone models, specifically Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7. These phones are perfectly able to run the CleverPet app to control and monitor the Hub once it has gotten online, but sometimes have trouble during the initial setup process.
If you have one of these phone models, we'd recommend first setting up the Hub using another device, using the same account you'd like to use on your phone later. Once the Hub is online, you can switch back to using your phone.
